Omni Montesorri: EARTH FAIR- Charlotte, NC

So I will participating in the Omni Montesorri Earth Fair fundraiser on May 2, 2009. I am excited this is the first show I will do in 2009. I am going to work on pricing and get some incentives - like buy two get one half off - for anything. Gotta get my seller face on...I am excited and hope that I meet some cool people who appreciate my jewelry.

On another note, one of my girlfriends from growing up is getting married and asked me to make her bridesmaid jewelry :) So I will be working on that this weekend.

AND my other friend from growing up asked me make her baby a pearl bracelet for her baptism (?) or christening. I have never had either of those things, so i get a little confused when it comes to which religion does what with little babies. That sounds politically incorrect - forgive me.

HAPPY WEEKEND !

Almost ready... all I have do now is sell it!

So today I finally finished! I finished every ounce of completed jewelry to an excel worksheet. 100% of my items have been given a wholesale price AND a retail price. I feel ready.

I am having a show on Friday April 4, 2008 @ the Gamma Phi Beta House at the University of South Carolina. They are hosting my jewelry show and we are hoping to raise a lot of money for CampFire USA - a summer camp for less fortunate kids. I am really hoping this sale goes well for a number of different reasons, but mainly I would like to raise money for this organization. I am donating 10% of my final total to Camp Fire.

I hope that the girls of USC are impressed with my jewelry and that they buy a lot of it! SEND GOOD VIBES HERE! My friend Julia has been helping me out with all of this - she is philanthropy chair of her sorority.

That being said - items on my etsy.com site may not be available after this FRIDAY! SO - now is the time to purchase. If you mention this post or my blog in anyway I will provide FREE SHIPPING and maybe a lil discount via paypal refund!

Goals for April

Well April is quickly approaching and I have decided to make some goals for myself...
  • Apply for two to three spring craft shows in the state
  • Successfully set up some meetings for wholesaling to boutiques and/or spas
  • feature 2-4 etsy artists per month from now on
    • if you are interested let me know!
  • Have a local show
  • have fun
  • sell more items on etsy.com
I hope that I will be able to sell as much as possible and hopefully attain my goals :)

Happy April!

Let's excercise the power of prayer...shall we?

Hello there everyone,

I decided to take a big risk, maybe it was early in my jewelry career, but today was a risk taking day I suppose.

Today I applied to be a part of Trunkt. (take a look...click the link) They have a free artists portfolio that is free and you can upgrade once you become a part of it if you choose to upgrade. They have a lot of beautiful artists and focus on one of a kind items and pieces. I thought to myself - maybe this is me - especially with my art clay silver pieces.

On the forums of the etsy.com site I have been reading and participating in the discussions about how people put a lot importance on being a part of this organization. A lot of people have said they receive large wholesale orders because of it. (I would love a huge wholesale order...wink wink) I think it is just important to get your name out there and be proud of what you do. A lot of artists have been rejected and they have really stunning work! I hope I can show them something that they like. You only get to choose three pictures and if they aren't the exact size they sort of morph. That is sort of a bummer.

So what am I asking of you? Send the good vibes towards me and the judges @ Trunkt.org and maybe something good will come out of this ;)

good vibes....good VIBES!

Back in the Saddle

I made a lot of earrings this week and and interesting necklace with carnelian and turquoise. It feels really good to get back in my studio again and just bust out a bunch of pieces that I REALLY like. I try not to make anything for my racks that I wouldn't wear myself.

I also started to use a lot of copper in my earrings. It is a cool way to bring warmth and enhance color in my earrings. I love the combo of amethyst and copper - perfect balance so far.

So I think I am going to try to make more earrings this week...I sent off my netflix so I am currently waiting for my new DVD. I got busy while watching Michael Clayton yesterday (ps good movie!) My boyfriend borrowed my RosettaStone in Spanish that I got for Christmas and finished the first level and has now returned it back to me. I am going to see how trying to get fluent in spanish and making jewelry will be. I hope Ill be able to multi-task like that!!

My friend Brian and his family own a series of really great deli's Gruby's New York Deli - to be exact. And locally his dad is going to put out my business cards... I am excited! I hope people take them.

I am really getting excited to take more pictures... perhaps I will start on that this week too!
