On the Road Again & Keep on Truckin!

So the minor success of getting my DVD out there was a tough day. I went to a few different stores and while I felt some of my jewelry - mostly the higher end pieces - would fit in very nicely, I was not really given the time of day. I still managed to give one DVD out, so I think the first few will be the most difficult. Hopefully this will begin to get easier.

On a much brighter note...I am preparing this week for my upcoming show at Clemson. I have made a lot of really nice pieces that I hope will catch the eye of a few people. This will be my second show away from my home town. I am very excited.

Up coming show and Portfolio

I am getting really excited for a few different reasons
  1. I have a show coming up at Clemson that I am hoping will go well. I am really excited because I feel like there are a large variety of girls that will like the large variety of pieces that I have. I am also really excited to see my friends...dressed up with my jewelry on!
  2. I have my Spring 2008 Portfolio complete. I made it into a DVD movie with the help of iDVD on my MacBook. I applied labels that we made in photoshop to the DVDs so they look pretty professional, and at least identifiable. I really hope they stand out and help me to get some appointments with buyers. I am really quite nervous to do this, but it is a necessary and important step in the creative process and professional process as a business owner.
buena suerte a mi!

Motivations...Good Vibrations

Hello there...

Well as the start of a new week approaches, I am happy to say that I have sold some pieces this week :)!!! I sold 2 bracelets, 5 pairs of earrings, and one necklace. This is great! It is a good motivator to know that people are liking your pieces. It is also giving me a lot of confidence for the week to try to set up appointments with boutiques.

I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Making Progress

Hello hello!

Well since the new year, I have been very busy. I have documented about 80% of my pieces through photograph, price, and description. Being organized is unbelievably important for what I am doing, I am glad for programs like MS Office and Photoshop.

I am also in the process of lining up some jewelry parties and beginning to sell my pieces to boutiques. I want to make sure I have the tools and assets to appear as professional and businesslike as possible.

As you can see above, I have figured out how to get some pictures of my pieces on my blog. If you click on any of the pictures at the top, it will take you to my etsy.com store. Just remember, you do NOT have to be an etsy member to purchase any of my pieces. Please contact me if you would like to follow up on this.

My main objectives for the next few weeks are: complete portfolio, set up meetings, and finish inventory. I am also working more and more with the art clay and making a lot of really great pendants, earrings, and rings. There will be pictures of those very soon.

I hope you have a great day!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I am happy that the new year is here - new resolutions and new goals. I hope that everyone had a safe, happy, and fun new year celebration.

As for the business, I am excited to focus a lot on new ideas - I have a ton of new gemstones to be creative with. I will also have a lot more time to focus on wire and metals techniques to enhance my pieces.

I am also going to focus on getting some of my pieces into boutiques and small retail shops. I have had a lot of positive reinforcement in this aspect of my business and it only makes rational sense to give it a try! :)

I had a show right before Christmas that went very well! People found a lot of pieces that they bought for others (and themselves!) - which I have been contacted with how much those people really enjoyed their pieces. This makes me so happy and proud to do what I am doing, making people feel special and beautiful. What could be better?

Well, so here are some of my goals for the new year:
  • create portfolio
  • have pieces in boutiques
  • more shows
  • craft/art shows
  • art clay silver certification
  • mastering wire techniques
  • and...making my customers happy
I will be posting more pictures of my more recent pieces this week - so keep an eye out!

Happy New Year!
